Persons Unknown – Squatting in Bethnal Green with Paula

Ending exploitation of the planning system

Bob Neill, the Shadow Minister for Local Government and Planning, calls for more „fair play“, as he pledges new measures to tackle illegal development and trespass.
The Conservatives have announced new plans to tackle widespread public concern about the exploitation of the planning system.
A new policy blueprint will pledge to address the small minority of travellers who occupy illegal or unauthorised sites. „The British public want to see fair play for all, rather than special treatment being given to some“, Neill said.

26 squatter colonies around city, says director-general

DBKK director-general Yeo Boon Hai said some of the houses were rebuilt by illegal immigrants after they were demolished by City Hall last year.
“We have identified those areas (illegal squatters) where about 5,000 houses were built illegally in areas such as Inanam, Menggatal, Likas, Putatan and Sepanggar.
“The operation to demolish the houses will be carried out in stages,” he told reporters after City Hall enforcement personnel demolished illegal squatters behind Likas Square, near here yesterday.

Rozbrat – the final strike, demonstration on 20th March 2010

The auction of the grounds where Poznan’s Rozbrat squat is situated will take place on 26th March at 10 a.m. Since January 2008, when the bailiff came to the squat for the first time, we have managed to keep the squat, through different legal actions and protests. If nobody buys the ground on 26th March, the next auction will take place within the next 2-3 years. That is why this is a critical moment for us.
