Dutch anti-squatting business thrives amid economic crisis

Amsterdam – Guido, a penniless student, could hardly believe his luck when offered lodging in the heart of Amsterdam at a fraction of the going rate — a boon thanks to the credit crunch as property owners desperately fend off squatters.

He smiled from ear to ear upon arriving recently, key in hand, at his new, temporary address: a piece of prime property with vast, empty rooms soon to become a luxury hotel a stone’s throw from the world-renowned Van Gogh museum.

Squatter moves into condo

COCOA BEACH, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) – Owners of a Cocoa Beach condominium came home from vacation to find out that their tenant, who owes them money, died of a heart attack three weeks earlier. They found a stranger living in his place.

“It’s extremely frustrating, as an average citizen you have no rights,” said condo owner Pryntha Clements. She and her boyfriend Jim Goldsmith are fed up.

Blitz on squatters will continue, says Fuad

ENFORCEMENT will continue to be carried out to rid Kuala Lumpur of squatters to achieve the government’s zero squatter target, Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Ahmad Fuad Ismail said.

“It’s just a matter of time, the longer the delay the further the squatters will have to go,’’ Fuad added.

The mayor was commenting on the high drama that occurred at Jinjang Selatan Tambahan on Monday when the residents refused to move out of their homes to make way for the demolition exercise.

Defrocked priest squatting in vicarage given reprieve

A judge has denied the Church of England the power to evict a defrocked cleric who is squatting in a vicarage.

At Birmingham county court yesterday, district judge Simon Bull adjourned the hearing after questioning whether the church had rights over the property.

„It may be of inconvenience to the claimants, but if there are squatters in my neighbours‘ garden and my neighbours are not around, I don‘t have the right to take possession,“ he said.

Krakers moeten stationsgebouw Loppersum snel verlaten

Dat heeft kort gedingrechter mr. E.J. Oostdijk van de rechtbank in
Groningen gisteren bepaald.
ervan verhuren.
